DESCRIPTION:This collaboration project between the University Medical Cente
r Hamburg-Eppendorf and Eppendorf aims to improve treatment strategies for
colorectal carcinoma by using automated liquid handling and 3D cell cultu
res. Colorectal carcinoma is one of the most common cancers\, but the succ
ess of therapy is limited due to drug resistance. This necessitates the ex
ploration of novel and more effective therapeutic approaches. An automated
workflow has the potential to revolutionize drug testing by providing inc
reased accuracy\, speed\, and standardization\, ultimately resulting in hi
gh-quality data.\n\nIn this talk\, we introduce the configuration and meth
ods for automated tumor spheroid generation using the epMotion 5073t platf
orm. The spheroids then were used for preclinical drug testing\, and the v
iability and metabolism after treatment was assessed utilizing an automate
d cell-based assay. Automated cell seeding and compound testing with epMot
ion significantly reduces the workload required for routine procedures and
  consistently generates reproducible results.
